Ajit Bhandarkar Award, Shaurya Chakra, the Veer Nari traverses the course of the country to identify and honour aspiring and deserving Future Leaders studying in Class XI. Shreya Pillai of Class XI ( Commerce) was selected after careful deliberations. This generous act serves as a tribute to the sacrifice made by her late husband, who gave his life in service to the nation. The scholarship aims to support young minds striving for excellence in their academic and personal endeavours. Shreya, a dedicated student, expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity, recognizing the significance of the gesture not only for their own future but also as a symbol of the soldier’s enduring legacy. Shreya also received a copy of the book, “The Saga of a Braveheart” This scholarship will continue to empower young individuals to reach their full potential. Mrs Bhandarkar addressed the school assembly and spoke about her journey and transformation from a girl with dreams to the wife of a soldier, from an educator to social entrepreneur, fueled by passion and purpose. Her presence inspired and motivated the students to continue striving for excellence. This year’s theme, Metamorphosis - Navigating Dreams and Reality, beautifully captured the essence of a child’s journey from innocence to maturity, from dreams to accomplishments. The event focused on the journey that every student takes, starting from the early days of preschool to the milestones of Class 12, where they stand ready to embark on new adventures. The school Patron Maj. Gen V T Mathew, AVSM, YSM, General Officer Commanding K & K Sub Area the Patron of our school and the first lady Mrs. Mini Mathew presided over the function. The annual function, as always, was a testament to the hard work, dedication, and creativity of our students, teachers, and staff. Kevin Kumar 9 PARA(SF) a beloved alumnus, a martyred soldier who gave his life for our country. The poignant tribute was followed by a soulful rendition by the school choir which captured the essence of the solemn dedication. On October 25, 2024, students of class VI-VIII, participated in a special Co-Curricular Activity (CCA) to commemorate Mental Health Day 2024. The activity, designed to self-reflection, was titled “Positive Affirmation about Self - Paper Fold Activity.” The objective was to encourage students to think positively about themselves, reinforcing self-worth and boosting confidence through affirmations.

Together, these values inspire us to push our limits, celebrate our successes, and foster a spirit of camaraderie and excellence in all our sports activities. To honour the legacy of the legendary hockey wizard, Major Dhyan Chand , National Sports Day was celebrated with enthusiasm and vigour. The event aimed to highlight the significance of sports in fostering physical and mental well-being and also instill a sense of pride and respect for the phenomenal achievements of Major Dhyan Chand. A special assembly was organised with the aim of instilling a sense of respect towards sports in the minds of young children as well as to develop team spirit, leadership and sportsmanship qualities. Principal Mrs. Kavitha K unfurled the school flag and the celebrations began amidst thunderous applause and a spectacular display of physical training. The sports captain Ashu Raj and the Vice Sports captain Sejal Gulia spoke on the significance of the day. This was followed by magnificent Tableau presenting the grace and poise of different sporting shots. Addressing the students the principal reiterated that National Sports day is not only a tribute to one of the greatest players but also reminds us about the importance of sports in our life. Sports should be a part of our daily routine, as it acts like a stress buster which further helps to develop a positive energy. She stated the old adage that winners are not people who never fail, but people who never quit because sports teach you character, it teaches you to play by the rules, it teaches you to know what it feels like to win and lose – it teaches you about life.
“In all debates, let truth be thy aim, not victory, or an unjust interest.” ― William Penn The AWES Cluster level English Debate has always managed to bring out the best in the students and stands true to the axiom that, you don’t win a debate by suppressing a discussion; you win it with a better argument. The event brought together teams from six distinguished APS’s of Cluster 6 participated in the event, brainstorming over the motion, “ Social media is making humans less social” The event provided a kaleidoscope of opinions, thoughts and perspectives that enhanced the knowledge and understanding of the far reaching impact of social media. The judges and the audience were held captive by the eloquence and the insightful arguments put forth by the speakers. The speakers participant spoke their mind on the rationale for/ against the impact of social media on our lives. The audience was held captive by a wide spectrum of contrasting views – from being heralded as an inevitable future, to being poorly perceived positivity and doubtful future due to a severe lack of moderation, to being a harbinger for global collaboration. The judges had their work cut out with each participant putting forth well researched arguments delving into the ramifications of social media dependence. Addressing the participants the judges appreciated the finer nuances of the debate. Addressing the students Principal Mrs Kavitha K commended the teams for their effort and said this was a great learning experience for them and she shared insightful advice on how to become better debaters and public speakers. The results were announced to resounding applause as APS KKR was declared winners. The school team brought home not only the winner’s trophy but also the individual awards. Princiapl Mrs Kavitha K presented the trophies to the winners. Deshna Kotian of Class XI was adjudged the Best Speaker ‘Against the motion’ Muhammed Aqueeb of Class XII was crowned the “Best speaker for the motion” , Spandan Roy of Class XI bagged the “ Best Interjector” trophy for his well crafted questions. The school team qualified for the Command level competition. APS PRTC, took home the runner’s up trophy. The day was impactful, and left not just the students but also the teachers with much to think about. It was hailed a success, and has set the bar high for the wining team in the next level of the competition.

One such important event is the selection of the school council. The school council plays a pivotal role in representing student interests, fostering school spirit, and facilitating communication between students, teachers, and administration. The selection process for council members is crucial in ensuring effective governance and representation within the school community. The nomination process began with inviting eligible students to apply. This ensured a diverse pool of candidates representing different grade levels, interests, and backgrounds. Interested candidates submitted applications outlining their qualifications, interests, and reasons for seeking council membership. These applications were reviewed by a selection committee comprising teachers, administrators, and current council members. The committee evaluates each candidate based on the established criteria. The nominated candidates were given the opportunity to address the students and present their views to seek support for their candidature. This also fosters leadership and public speaking skills which bode well for school life beyond academics. Engaged students are more likely to be motivated and committed to their studies and extracurricular activities. The ballot was set and the students lined up to cast their vote and select the most suitable candidates for various portfolios. The school election provides the first lesson in using the power of the ballot responsibly. Principal Mrs Kavitha K announced the names of the elected candidates amidst loud cheers and applause. The council members will now undergo an orientation under the tutelage of Principal Mrs Kavitha K, Coordinators and house in charges, to familiarize them with their roles, responsibilities, and the school's governance structure.

We at APS, KKR believe in bringing every student on stage for imbibing confidence among all and polishing every individual to make our students competent and successful in every sphere of life. ‘MACS EXPERRA 2.0’ is a celebration where students are provided with a big platform to compete with students from top educational institutes in various competitions. It helps to remove their hesitation and stage fear and thus imbibes confidence and courage to face challenges. MACS EXPERRA 2.0 -a dynamic event that combines physical prowess with intellectual creativity. It provides students a platform to excel in both athletic and literary pursuits, fostering a balanced development of mind and body. The fest spread over two days provided the students with the opportunity to showcase diverse talents. The fest was inaugurated by Principal Mrs Kavitha K, in a grand manner. The fest kicked off in the sports arena with Col Grant Cup- Basketball tournament on Day 1 Day 2 saw students foray into the literary world with Lingua Aces. Participants donned many hats as they displayed their oratorical prowess in Soliloquy and monologues. The competition was fierce as all competitors got into the skin of the characters. Lets’ Get Quizzical tested the students on their general awareness with questions on a wide range of subjects. The rounds were keenly contested showcasing the preparedness of all the teams. Food for thought had participants designing their own blogs. The topic was given two hours before the competitions. The extravaganza concluded with a sparkling award ceremony. The winners received cash award of Rs 5000/ while the runners-up received Rs 3000/ The school vice-chairman Col Mani Inder Pal,SM, Comdt PCTC, presented the certificates, trophies and medals to the winners. Addressing the participants the vice-chairman commended with winners for their grit and also exhorted all students to strive for excellence in all spheres of life.

As part of this endeavour the school has worked in tandem with Nature Foundation’s ‘Kids for Tigers ‘ program which is India’s largest mass movements to save the tiger impacting one million children. In keeping with the belief that nature is self-repairing, Kids for Tigers communicates the positive hope that all carnivores and their co-inhabitants will spring back to safe numbers provided we leave nature alone long enough to allow its self-repairing mechanisms to take effect. Many activities were conducted towards creating this awareness. A special assembly followed by a signature campaign to seek support and also pledge solidarity with the cause, mask making and face painting were some other activities that help drive the message home, that the tiger must be protected at all costs.
The dream followed by months of planning and hard work came to fruition today with the inauguration of the astro turf ground. The kick-off heralded a new era in the sporting history of APS kamraj Road. The first match was played between the U-19 and U-17 teams. Principal Mrs Kavitha K said this new addition in the ever improving infrastructure is a sign of the indomitable spirit of the APS family and bears testimony to the belief," If you can percieve it you can achieve it,"

Life is about creating yourself –George Bernard Shaw A special meditation session was conducted by" MCKS food for the hungry foundation" Bangalore, Ms. Kokila facilitated the session on super brain yoga and meditation of Twin Hearts. Superbrain Yoga is a simple and effective exercise to activate, energise, and recharge the brain. It helps to fuel and sustain a healthy brain in order to enhance the capability of the brain to retain and process information It increases the focus and the power of concentration among children. This technique not only helps to improve emotional intelligence in children but also pacifes and normalizes the behavior patterns of children. She exhorted the students to make this a part of their daily regimen as it increases retention power and the ability to recall new information. The session set the tone for the day. Principal Mrs Kavitha K expressed her gratitude towards the members of the foundation for taking out time and sharing valuable information with the students.

It is a rare event to have someone who inspires by her mere grit and perseverance. Her visit was a highly anticipated event, generating excitement and curiosity among students and staff alike and her first word a resounding Bharat Mata Ki Jai let to a thunderous round of applause as the ground reverberated with the sound of energy, vigour and patriotism. Aasha then took the stage to share her story. She spoke about her early struggles, the challenges she faced in pursuing her passion, and how she overcame societal barriers to achieve her dreams. Her narrative was filled with anecdotes of perseverance, resilience, and the importance of believing in oneself. Coming from humble beginnings from a small village in Madhya Pradesh Aasha chose not to allow her modest background to define her personality.The students listened intently, captivated by her experiences and the lessons she imparted. Aasha Malviya, an advocate for women's rights and an accomplished athlete, has cycled across various challenging terrains, breaking stereotypes and inspiring countless individuals with her journey. She has covered 26,000 Kilometres across the country to raise promote Women Safety and Women empowerment. She has now embarked on a journey to take forward the message of brotherhood and patriotism which will conclude in Kargil in honour of the 25th Kargil Vijay Diwas.

The day serves as an occasion to honour the courage of the soldiers who fought in the harsh conditions of the Kargil heights, many of whom were young men facing formidable odds. It also highlights the importance of national unity and the role of the armed forces in safeguarding the country’s sovereignty. The APS Kamaraj family understands that is of utmost importance to share the sagas of the real life heroes with the millennials, so that they can appreciate the freedom they enjoy today. The special assembly became a memorable one as Kargil War Veteran Col Anirban Chatterjee, addressed the students. He shared stories of the guardians of our nation, who epitomise the essence of selflessness, bravery, and unwavering commitment to safeguarding our homeland. An indebted audience comprising of students and teachers listened in rapt attention with reverence akin to worship as Col Chaterjee spoke of Capt. Vikram Batra, PVC( Posthomous) and how he to this day is a beacon of courage. He exhorted the young minds to become students and citizens worthy of the sacrifices made by our soldiers.

In a stunning display of skill and determination, Sejal Gulia has clinched the silver medal at the Commonwealth Cadet Fencing Championship. This prestigious event, held at Christchurch, New Zealand attracted young fencers from across the Commonwealth, showcasing some of the best emerging talent in the sport. The Commonwealth Cadet Fencing Championship is a key competition for young fencers, providing them with an opportunity to compete at a high level and gain valuable experience. The tournament featured events in three fencing disciplines: foil, epee, and sabre, with competitors vying for medals in individual and team categories. Sejal Gulia, proudly represented and demonstrated exceptional prowess throughout the championship. Her journey to the final was marked by a series of impressive victories against highly skilled opponents. Her agility, precise footwork, and sharp blade work set her apart from the competition. Sejal Gulia’s silver medal is a significant achievement in her fencing career, highlighting her as one of the top young fencers in the Commonwealth. APS Kamaraj Road is committed towards conservation sustainability. The special assembly to celebrate Van Mahostav highlighting the importance of trees and nature conservation in our daily lives was a resounding success. The event brought together students, teachers, and staff in a collaborative effort to promote environmental awareness and sustainable living practices. Spearheading the drive Principal Mrs Kavitha K planned a sapling in the assembly area. Phase 1 of the celebrations included a special assembly and a talk on the historical background of the Van Mahostava. The school boasts of sprawling lush green areas and a plethora of trees that enhance the surroundings with their colourful blooms. Despite this the APS family continues to spread the green cover by planting more trees. The phase 2 will include tree plantation drive in the school premises. A survey to identify areas that require more green cover have been identified and each house is allocated a specific area. We take our responsibility of a mentor school seriously. Taking the role of mentorship to the next level students from the mentee school St. Aloysius English Higher Primary School visited the school. The visit had a profound impact on both the visitors and our own students. It created a sense of empathy, understanding, and appreciation for diversity among our students. The students of the Mentee School had the opportunity to experience a day in a structured educational environment, inspiring them to pursue their own educational goals. For our students, it reinforced the values of compassion and community service. The visit, included interactive sessions were held in various classrooms. The students visited the library, the music room, indoor sports rooms. They enjoyed a fun fitness session. Our teachers and students actively engaged with the visitors, encouraging participation and learning. The visit was another resounding success and exemplified our commitment to inclusive education and community outreach. We look forward to organizing more such events in the future to continue making a positive impact on young lives.
The students of Army Public School,Kamaraj Road,observed the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit trafficking on June 26th 2024.The morning assembly was animated on the theme SAY YES TO LIFE,NO TO DRUGS. The students took a pledge against drug abuse.Grade 9 students participated in post making and essay writing which were displayed during the assembly.
On 29th November 2023, Wing Commander Rakesh Sharma (Retd), the first and only Indian astronaut, and NASA Administrator Bill Nelson, interacted with 40 x students of Army Public School Kamaraj Road Bangalore along with students from other schools at Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum (VITM), Bangalore under the programme ‘Reaching for the Stars: A Conversation with NASA and ISRO’. The Indian astronaut reiterated the need to be mindful of the finite resources of Earth and advocated, “Science with a conscience and Science that will positively impact lives.” Mr Nelson spoke about how when he saw the Earth from space, he did not see racial, religious or political divisions, but that we are all in this together. He added that space is a unifying frontier for all countries. He called the current generation the Artemis generation and referred to himself as the Apollo generation. The session will surely motivate the students towards further seeking and exploration.
To commemorate the splendid Kargil Victory of the Indian Army and to salute the brave heroes of our great nation, AG's Branch of the Indian Army alongwith Army Welfare Education Society Delhi (AWES) is conducting a Nation wide school quiz competition #BattleofMinds2023. The Quarter Finals of the Bangalore chapter of the quiz was held at Basantar Auditorium of MEG & Centre, Bangalore on 20th November 2023. 18 x schools qualified for the round and participated in the competition. Army Public School Kamaraj Road Bangalore was responsible for overall conduct of the event. The quiz was conducted over three rounds, each having multiple segments. Top two schools from each round were selected for the semifinals to be held subsequently. Thus a total of six schools were chosen for the semifinals through a closely fought battle of minds !!! The audience thoroughly enjoyed the event and there were audience prizes too for correct answers from them. Kudos to the winners. The 'Run for Unity' program is organized every year to commemorate the birthday of the Ironman Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, so that the young generation of the country understands the importance of the contribution of Sardar Patel towards unification of our Great Nation and takes inspiration from him to convey the message of unity and integrity of India to the public and keep it awake. Towards the same mission, a Run for Unity was organised during the special assembly at Army Public School Kamaraj Road Bangalore on 03rd Nov 2023. The Principal, Ms K Kavitha flagged of the run. A total of 400x student volunteers from all classes (6th to 12th) ran together across the school campus. The teachers also participated in the run. The frontrunners as well as finishers were felicitated by the Principal at the end of the event.
As part of the celebration of SWACHH BHARAT MISSION, Army Public School Kamaraj Road Bangalore undertook a week long program including workshops, activities and raising awareness on the mission. A special assembly was organised and the students took the Swachhta Pledge during the assembly. As a part of "Shramdaan" to raise social awareness, a cleanliness drive was undertaken at SSB South, Bangalore. The students also actively participated in cleaning the school garden. All necessary cleaning tools including hygeine material was provided by the School. Furthermore, a Workshop on cleanliness, the students of the Eco Club of the school visited the Swach Graha Kalika Kendra. Various environment friendly agricultural and technological projects and initiatives were displayed to the students.
The students of class 7 at Army Public School Kamaraj Road Bangalore participated in a creative and introspective activity that combined artistic expression with goal-setting. The "My hand, My Vision & strength" activity was designed to encourage students to reflect on their aspirations and develop a vision for their future. This activity was a success in promoting self-reflection, creativity, and a sense of community among the students. It encouraged them to think about their future and the steps they need to take to achieve their dreams. The handprints with their visions and goals now serve as a daily reminder of their aspirations.
The students of class 6 at Army Public School Kamaraj Road Bangalore undertook a creative and meaningful project to design positive awareness badges. A session titled "Mental Health Matters" was conducted for the class 8 students of Army Public School Kamaraj Road Bangalore . The session aimed to raise awareness about the importance of mental health and promote open discussions on this critical topic. The students were introduced with the concept of mental health and they were encouraged to think about how their emotions and thoughts play a significant role in their daily lives. Students were made aware that it's essential to recognize that mental health issues can affect anyone, and there's no shame in seeking help or support. The Session also had interactive discussions, quiz and role reversal where in students enacted as counsellors and gave solutions for various problems faced. This session was a significant step toward creating awareness and a safe environment for students to discuss mental health openly. It is hoped that this knowledge will equip the students with the tools to take care of their mental well-being and support their peers. The students of class 8 designed artistic posters, It encouraged self-expression and critical thinking on an important issue, emphasizing that mental health is just as crucial as physical health. The posters created during this activity now serve as educational and thought-provoking displays within the school.
On the occasion of International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction, VITM, Bangalore organised an interactive talk session by Dr YVS Lakshmi from CDoT Bangalore on 13th October 2023. The topic of the talk was "Bridging the Gap - Fighting inequality for a resilient future". 40 x Students of Army Public School Kamaraj Road Bangalore attended the talk session and actively participated in the interaction. Detailed discussions were held on various Disaster management initiatives being undertaken by the Government of India. Special emphasis was laid on the communication of alerts to the citizens over available communication channels and obtaining such alerts by integrating various agencies monitoring climatic, geographic or other factors which may cause disaster/ emergency situations. Discussions were also held on Emergency Response Support System and various technical and administrative developments being made to build a more prompt and effective disaster management system. The students took keen interest and brought up several inquisitive questions which were taken up and discussed during the session.

As India has embarked on its first ever solar mission through Aditya L1, it is intriguing to venture into the tremendous engineering research that was carried out in the background. A special workshop on the details of Aditya L1 was organised by VITM, Bangalore on 10th October 2023, as part of the World Space Week Celebration at VITM. 30x Students of Army Public School Kamaraj Road Bangalore attended the event. Mr M Srikanth, Mission Director of Aditya L1, ISRO, Bangalore delivered a detailed lecture and presented the various challenges faced during the build up of the mission and the thought provoking solutions which were incorporated to obviate the same. The immersive presentation was intellectually revealing for the students. The lecture session was followed by a prize distribution program and 06 x Students of APS Kamaraj Road Bangalore were awarded for their stellar performance in various competitions held during the World Space Week @ VITM. The young minds were highly impressed !!!

International Day of Sign Language was observed on 23/09/2023.The theme for 2023 International Day of Sign languages was "A World Where Deaf People Everywhere Can Sign Anywhere!". The world will highlight the unity generated by sign languages. A team of 14 students (class 6 to of Army Public School Kamaraj Road Bangalore attended the sign language workshop held at Visvesvariah Industrial and Technical Museum (VITM) on the the eve of world sign language day. The workshop was conducted by Ms.Ruby who visited from the Institute of Speech and Hearing,Mysuru. It aimed at teaching children the basics of Indian Sign language to help provide a basis for a more inclusive society. Children learned the importance of using and understanding the sign language. It will not only help them to communicate with hearing and speech impaired people but can help in any new place as it's a universal language.It was a very informative and interactive session.Students learned the signs to express commonly used expressions and actions.The students also visited the engine hall in the museum. They were excited and amazed by various working models on display ranging from simple machines to aircraft engines. Such visits can help students learn beyond their textbooks and generate curiosity in a wide range of areas.
AWES Command Level Hindi Debate Competition was held on 16.09.2023 at APS K. Kamaraj Bangalore. Cluster Level winners under Southern Command participated in the competition. The topic of the debate was “Kya Sarkari Sikhan Sansthano ka Nijikaran Kar Dena Chahiye ?” Team APS Kamaraj Bangalore was declared as Runners-Up. Riyanshu Raj of Class XII of APS Bangalore was adjudged the Best Interjector.

Teachers form the pillar of the education system and they are the major contributors to the nation building. It is on their teachings that the future of the nation thrives. The Teachers Day was hence celebrated in APS Kamaraj road, with full reverence in recognition of the stupendous service offered by the educators to the nation. At the one set, the principal and all the school coordinators paid homage to Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan. The student council conducted a special morning assembly on the occasion and expressed their respect and gratitude to all the teachers. This was followed by the Inter House Dance Competition, in which all the participants took part with full vigor and energy. The dance event was judged by external judges, who were specially invited as the jury members. In the closely contested event, The Vedavathi (Orange) House stood First and the Arkavathi (Red) House was declared as the Runners Up. This was followed by a customary speech by the principal, congratulating the students for putting up an impressive show!! Subsequently, a special fun games session was organized by the school for the teachers. All the teachers wholeheartedly took part in the event and thoroughly enjoyed the same. The principal, Ms. Kavitha K addressed all teachers on the occasion and appreciated the stellar work put forward by them.
***ONAM CELEBRATION Army Public School Kamaraj Road Bangalore *** The air @ APS Kamaraj was filled with gaiety, fragrance and colour as Onam was celebrated in the school with full fervour on 30th August '23. The teachers, gracefully dressed in off white attire, skillfully crafted a beautiful Poohkalam, as customary. The Deepam was lighted and its divine rays enlightened the pious mood. A Special Assembly was arranged in the school and the Principal addressed all on the occasion. The students staged a wonderful dance show on the occasion.
Army Public School Kamaraj Road Bangalore were the Champions of the AWES Cluster Level Hindi Debate Competition held on 19th August 2023 @ APS, Kannur. Amogh Tripathi of class 10C won the First Prize for Best Speaker For the motion while Pragati Pandya won the First Prize for Best Speaker Against the motion. The entire team of three members including Amogh, Pragati and Riyanshu won the overall best team prize. Needless to say, the team qualified for the next round to be held at the Command Level AWES. The Principal congratulated the young champs as they brought the Winners Trophy home !!!
As a culmination to the month long electoral process of electing the Student Appointments for the school, the INVESTITURE CEREMONY of Army Public School Kamaraj Road Bangalore was held on 12 August 2023. Brig MRK Rajesh Panicker,VSM, Dy GOC, K&K Sub Area graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The Principal, Ms Kavitha K was also present. The student winners of the elections were bestowed with the respective Student Appointments by the chief guest. Academic Achievers of the school, who excelled in the CBSE board examinations were also felicitated during the occasion. The valuable words of knowledge and motivation from the Chief Guest and the Principal were keenly heard by the audience. It was a proud moment for the Students, parents and the teachers !!!

Students of Army Public School, K Kamaraj participated in Inter Army Public School competitions held at Rashtriya Military Academy on 16 Aug 2023. There was extempore for students of classes IX and-X in which Ahraan Singh Batth, Aishani Hazarika and Piyush Prabhav participated. Piyush Prabhav won the second prize in this category (a certificate and a cycle from Decathlon). His topic was "How Technology Impacts us in our Daily lives". Krish Cariappa of Class 6A won the second prize (a certificate and Skate shoes) in English Essay writing competition (Category 2)The topic of the Essay was (My Dream School).
Our School won 1st Prize in debate competition in senior category and second prize in junior category.
