INCLUSIVE EDUCATION

School Inclusion: A Commitment to All Students

At APS KKR, we believe it is our responsibility to ensure that every child feels a sense of belonging, has equitable access to the curriculum, and has the opportunity for social and academic development.

Our philosophy is anchored in the ethos of resilience, discipline, and unity, ensuring every child—regardless of background or ability—thrives in a nurturing environment that fosters moral, social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth. We are dedicated to creating an inclusive learning space where cognitive skills and personal confidence empower students to navigate challenges, leverage their strengths, and contribute meaningfully to society.

From Segregation to Inclusion: A Transformative Journey

The traditional segregation model meant children attended school either in a separate room as remedial or in a separate class, where they could receive sufficient support. Typically, this resulted in students being socially isolated from their peers, creating stigma and experiencing minimal academic opportunities with their peers. At APS KKR, we have changed our entire philosophy of our own journey to full inclusion to ensure all children learn together. Our teachers' professional development included differentiated instruction, Universal Design for Learning (UDL) practices, awareness workshops on screening and identifying red flags of disabilities, and positive behavior interventions and support. Collaboration between general and special education staff has increased, and our learning environment has been reorganized to promote personalized learning and be more accessible to all.

Inclusive Classroom Practices

The school is committed to inclusive education with a total of 32 students with special needs, including specific learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, locomotor issues, cerebral palsy, and autism. True inclusion demands adaptive systems, and at APS KKR, we implement curriculum flexibility, accommodations, and exemptions across all grades in line with CBSE guidelines. Special educators collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate personalized strategies like differentiated instruction into regular lessons. Partnerships with external experts ensure prompt evaluations and interventions.
